We arrived in Quartzsite, AZ a few days before the show began to give us some time to explore. We are staying at the Scenic Road RV Park, where the Bread Deliveryman brings fresh baked goods to the park guests. Uncle Albert & Aunt Sue arrived from Ohio to warm up from their cold weather. The four of us went to Lake Havasu, AZ to the Hot Air Balloon Festival & a day of sightseeing. We had a beautiful sunrise, and an equally beautiful sunset. In between we had a wonderful day exploring the desert. Its hard to say which we enjoyed the most, the hot air balloons, the wild burros walking down the road, or the beautiful scenery along the way. We appreciate Albert & Sue have been helping out at the RV Show. Sue & I enjoy sneaking away to shop all the venders. Hope you enjoy the pictures!

Indio, CA
Indio CA, FMCA Rally
Today was the first day at Family Motor Coach Assoc Rally in Indio CA. This year’s theme for the rally, ” Dogpatch, USA”. Brings back memories of going to “Dogpatch, USA” back in Arkansas many years ago. Tonight they had a parade. Several floats were pulled down the road by mobility scooters. What a hoot! These people sure know how to have fun! When you get to a certain age…who cares what other people think, right? Later this evening, the concert was “3 Men & 30 Instruments. Very entertaining.
San Diego
We have been in San Diego for 5 days and have had a blast! The first day we went to Old Town and the Harbor. The 2nd day we went whale watching. They said this year there is a record number of gray whale sitings. I think this was my favorite time here. We got to see several whales & got a lot of great photos. Coming back to shore, we had a great sunset. Our 3rd day here we drove to Coronado, Point Loma, and Fort Rosecrans Memorial National Cemetery. And anotherf beautiful sunset. Our last day we spent at the zoo. What a fabulous zoo. We got to see the giraffe that was born on Dec 22, she was so cute, all 6 feet of her.
Viva Lost Vegas…
We got to Las Vegas on Jan 30. We thought about going to The Strip for New Year’s Eve but decided against being in the middle of 325,000 people. We had a nice dinner & went to Sam’s Casino for a while before going home to bring in the New Year on TV. New Year’s Day we got out early & started our day at Denny’s, then walked several Casinos & Hotels on the strip. Their Christmas Decorations were beautiful. After walking several miles we went out for a nice dinner, & played a few slots, donating our funds. Next stop… San Diego
